Megan Lewis was awarded the New Mexico Space Grant Graduate Research Scholarship for work toward her PhD on SiO masers in Asymptotic Giant Branch stars. The incidence and ratios of different isotopologue lines imply specific physical conditions in the stellar envelopes, and inform us about the evolution of these stars.
The scholarship award is $10,000 for two semesters, and supports Megan’s thesis work.
Prof. Pihlstrom is her research advisor.
