P&A Welcomes New Lecturer II Jose Sanchez
Please join us in welcoming Jose Sanchez, the Department of Physics and Astronomy's new Lecturer II. Jose started in August and will be teaching three undergraduate physics and/or astronomy courses each semester.
Jose earned his MS degree in Physics from Texas Tech University in 2016 and his BS degree in Astrophysics from the University of New Mexico in 2009.
After obtaining his master's degree, Jose and his wife moved to Rhode Island where he taught physics at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport for a little over four years. They had two children while in Rhode Island and then decided to move back to Albuquerque in 2021.
Prior to coming to UNM's Main Campus, Jose worked as an Adjunct Astronomy Lecturer and Lab Instructor at UNM's Valencia Branch Campus.
Jose is originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and likes basketball, badminton, board games, and physics/astronomy.
