Harjit Ahluwalia Named Sigma Xi Fellow

Emeritus Professor Harjit Ahluwalia was named a 2022 Sigma Xi Fellow for his distinguished accomplishments and dedication to the development of young investigators, as well as significant contributions to the Society's mission and service to the University of New Mexico chapter of Sigma Xi.

About Harjit Ahluwalia

Harjit Ahluwalia joined the UNM Faculty in 1968 and contributed research in the fields of Galactic Cosmic Radiation, Solar Physics, and Space Weather.

About Sigma Xi

Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society has a renowned history of acknowledging scientific research excellence with the purpose of supporting "companions in zealous research and improving the human condition." Sigma Xi Fellows receive a certificate along with the Fellows of Sigma Xi lapel pin in honor of their distinguished service and achievements.

The Society established the Sigma Xi Fellow distinction to recognize selected members who have exhibited extraordinary service to Sigma Xi, and who have made significant contributions in research and development, outreach, teaching and curricular innovation, mentorship, leadership, and/or science advocacy.
