Faculty Promotions
Victor Acosta and Alejandro Manjavacas Promoted to Associate Professor; Mark Morgan-Tracy Promoted to Principal Lecturer
The Department of Physics and Astronomy is proud to announce that Victor Acosta and Alejandro Manjavacas have been given tenure and have been promoted to Associate Professor. Also, Mark Morgan-Tracy has been promoted to Principal Lecturer.
Dr. Acosta joined the UNM Physics and Astronomy faculty in Fall 2015. His areas of research are quantum sensing with diamond NV centers, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, bio-magnetic imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and precision measurement. He received an NSF Career Award in 2018.
Dr. Manjavacas joined the UNM Physics and Astronomy faculty in 2015. His areas of research is Theoretical Nanophotonics. He received an award from the Royal Spanish Society for Physics in 2016 and an NSF Career Award in 2018.
Dr. Morgan-Tracy joined the UNM Physics and Astronomy faculty in 2012. He is a 2002 graduate of UNM. He won UNM's Lecturer of the Year award in 2015.
