My research interests are at the conflunece of cosmology/astrophysics and particle physics. Over the past few years we have entered the era of "Precision Cosmology". This has led to the emergence of a "Standard Cosmological Model" which describes the universe and its evolution from the earliest moments to the present state, in agreement with observations, by a few parameters. A very important question is how these parameters can be explained by microphysics. This inevitably requires particles and interactions beyond the "Standard Model of Particle Physics". We are on the verge of probing this new physics directly, most notably at the large hadron collider (LHC). My current research focuses on inflation, dark matter and matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe, and their embedding within models of high energy physics that can be tested in the upcoming experiments.
