From time to time I will find an interesting research article,
or
be asked a question by a student, which necessitates finding an article.
I will put references to these articles here:
Questions concerning "warp-drive" engines:
This idea was begun by Miguel Alcubierre, who published his paper in
Classical and Quantum Gravity, volume 11, page L73, 1994.
The most recent work is by Chris Van Den Broeck, Catholic University of
Louvain (Leuven in modern Flemish), Belgium. His two papers are still unpublished,
but are available from the Los Alamos preprint library, as noted below:
A `warp drive' with reasonable total energy requirements, and
On the (im)possibility
of warp bubbles, .
These have references to the early, accepted work on this notion,
which, it should be pointed out, require the use of matter with a negative
energy density and a total negative energy.
